Future Hall of Fame Coach

Elite Wisdom
The Coach Everyone Studies
CEOs study him. Locker rooms swear by him. His press conferences get quoted in boardrooms.
For nearly two decades, Mike Tomlin led one of the most storied franchises in professional sports. He earned the ring most coaches chase for a lifetime and never touch.
He is a certain first-ballot conversation for the Hall of Fame, and he is one of the most sought-after voices on leadership in the country.
On September 30, that voice is in Durham, for one night, for NC Central.
Principles Of Success
Leadership, Forged In Adversity

Anyone can lead when things are easy. Tomlin led through everything else.
Quarterback changes. Roster turnover. Injuries, expectations, and two decades of the toughest division in football. Through all of it he held one culture, one standard, and one locker room that kept showing up ready to fight.
We decided to live in our hopes, not our fears, and take the necessary risk associated with victory.
— Mike Tomlin
That is the conversation he brings to Durham: how you set a standard, hold a standard, and lead people to give you their very best.
The standard is the standard.
— Mike Tomlin
Four words built a dynasty. On September 30, he takes the stage in Durham to share the story behind them.
One night. One dinner. One of the most respected leaders in sports, live, in support of Eagle Basketball. Be in the room.
Welcome To Durham
This Is Eagle Country

North Carolina Central University has been building leaders since 1910.
The Eagles Carry That Legacy Onto The Court Every Season:
1989 National Championship Banner
Packed Houses at Mcdougald-Mclendon Arena
Four NCAA Tournament Trips Between 2014 and 2019
A program known across the country for toughness, discipline, and pride.
That program is led by Coach LeVelle Moton. Raleigh-raised. Championship-proven. A builder of young men who compete at the highest level and carry Eagle values into business, community, and life.
The Tip-Off Banquet launches the season and funds what champions require: equipment, travel, facilities, and the development of student-athletes on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
When you buy a ticket or reserve a table, you invest in NC Central.
Distinguished Voices
THE SPEAKERS

Mike Tomlin
Guest Speaker
Mike Tomlin is a Super Bowl champion and one of the defining head coaches of his era. At 36 he became the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl, and over nearly two decades with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he built a reputation as one of the great culture-builders and communicators in sports.
His teams were known for resilience: through quarterback changes, roster turnover, and the weekly grind of the NFL's toughest division, his locker rooms stayed united, and his standard never moved.
He is the subject of the acclaimed biography Tomlin: The Soul of a Football Coach by John Harris, and his voice on leadership reaches far beyond football, into business, education, and every field where people must perform under pressure.
LeVelle Moton
Head Coach, NCCU Men's Basketball
LeVelle Moton was raised in Raleigh and has spent his career fighting to break cycles of intergenerational poverty.
A championship coach, sought-after speaker, and hands-on philanthropist, he connects alumni, city leaders, business partners, players, and coaches to turn ideas into programs that change lives.
The City of Raleigh honored that impact by renaming a Raleigh park in his honor.
